Central Guiyang is a concentrated couple of square
kilometres around the narrow
Nanming River
, with the downtown area focused along Zhonghua
Lu, which runs south through the centre into Zunyi
Lu, which crosses the river and continues for
another kilometre before terminating at the
train
station . In the large square outside you'll
find green-and-white
taxis (¥15 will get
you anywhere within the city limits), and
buses
#1 or #2, which run between 6am and 10pm from the
east side of the square: bus #1 goes along Zunyi
Lu and Zhonghua Lu, turning west along Beijing Lu
and back to the train station down Ruijin Lu,
while bus #2 does the same route in reverse.
Guiyang has several bus stations : the
colossal long-distance station is west of the
centre on the corner of Yan'an Xi Lu and Zhaoshan
Lu, while services from the south and west might
terminate down near the Tiyu Binguan on
Jiefang Lu. There's also a freelance long-distance
depot outside the train-station square at the end
of Zunyi Lu. Guiyang's new airport lies
15km east of town, a ¥50 taxi ride to the center.
