Leaving Guangzhou can take some
planning, and you'll generally need a
few days to arrange tickets - especially
for the train. Despite the unpredictable
service fees involved, paying a ticket
agent often cuts out so much bother
that it's money well spent. Most,
however, deal only with major
destinations like Shanghai, Beijing,
Hong Kong, Guilin and Xi'an, so there
are times when you'll have to do
everything yourself.
Plane
With considerably cheaper fares than
Hong Kong, Guangzhou is well connected
by air to all major cities in China, and
several in Southeast Asia and Australia.
